One of the leading solutions to protect compounds is by using radars to scan compound’s
area and provide real-time alert in case of a possible threat. The advantage of radars upon
other security methods we mentioned is their ability to identify threats through wide range
even in bad weather conditions. While threats discovery abilities are high, currently most
available radar systems are cumbersome in size and expensive. They include many
mechanically moving and rotating parts, such as pedestals, that make maintenance hard
and expensive. In addition, securing larger compounds needs larger, more complicated, radar
systems consuming more energy and require a larger supporting infrastructure, and so it
becomes even more expensive.

It is clear, then, that there is a need to develop a reliable, economical, affordable and compact
radar system covering 360 degrees in azimuth, to protect compounds, while reliably
identifying humans through wide ranges.
